FAQ's
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (CBH) brings together the focussed attention of hypnotherapy and the reframing of unhelpful patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
Through the use of online therapy we will work together to gently shift, thoughts, feelings and behaviours that may be getting in the way of how you really want to live your life.
CBH is not about quick fixes, or the therapist having control over you. It's about working together to find practical ways to support your mind, build emotional resilience and move forward in a way that feels right for you.
One of the most important things to understand about Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy, is that it is NOT something that I do 'to' you...
We will work together, towards agreed outcomes, to achieve your therapy goal. During our sessions we will reflect on the time since we last met and use some CBT, hypnotherapy, relaxation and some combined techniques.
We will also agree on suitable homework.
This is online therapy, delivered in the comfort of your own home.
Homework is an important part of the process and helps to bring together everything that we work on during our sessions. Homework may be task based i.e.. recording your thoughts, learning to recognise triggers for stress and anxiety, or listening to recordings. Or it could be implementing new strategies that we have practised during a previous online therapy session.
Whichever form it takes, homework is just as important to the achievement of your goal, and your ongoing success, as the work we do together during our sessions.
Like anything, your ability to use, and become empowered by, new strategies will improve with practice.
